A short distance from the hustle and bustle of Franschhoek’s town centre, embraced by magnificent mountains, you will find Entrée Restaurant.
This charming restaurant is steeped in history, holding many secrets of the Franschhoek Valley’s past.
The converted 19th century building invites you in with its stylish interior, the copper piping accents, exposed brick walls and giant indoor fireplace creates a natural, warm ambiance, a perfect fit for an intimate dinner for two or a comfortable get together with friends and family.
Our indoor space extends to overlook the stunning gardens, the concertina doors open-up to give you that indoor, outdoor feel to enjoy on those balmy summer evenings.
The patio area is perfect for enjoying a long, lazy lunch, we welcome families with children and provide a fun outdoor play area that is sure to keep the little ones entertained. Our easy-going approach to dining welcomes “man’s best friend” we are delighted to offer a friendly pet policy too.
Taking a stroll through the gardens and listening to the tranquil sounds from the multiple water features is a sure way to unwind and quiet the mind.

BISTRO STYLE STARTER PLATEs
The name Entrée, French for ‘starter’, was inspired by the exciting menu concept which offers a variety of starter-sized dishes.
The Scottish Chef & Owner, Archie Maclean classically trained in European cuisine, explains why he enjoys this creative, easy-going approach to dining;
“Our Entrée menu re-defines the space between a traditional large-portioned al la carte menu and the finer dining tasting menus.
The best of both worlds is met here, by enjoying the creative flair of a set menu whilst still offering you all the choice and affordabilty of an al la carte experience”.

WINE TASTING & FLIGHT & BITE
Entrée has partnered with Anthonij Rupert and we are offering wine tastings with their L’Ormarins Method Cap Classique and their Cape of Good Hope range of wines.
The Cape of Good Hope range of wines were born with the singular intention to unlock this legacy by identifying only the finest fruit from the region’s most significant vines and sites, in order to craft wines of distinction and refined expression.
This initiative is an invaluable contribution to the protection of South African heritage and we are excited to offer our guests this unique experience.
We also offer our “Flight and Bite” menu for those who wish to round off their wine tasting with some delicious starter-sized plates from our ‘Bites’ menu.
Our Corporate Responsibility
We are a member of StreetSmart, a non-profit organisation who raises funds to help street children. A R5 is automatically added to your bill. The funds raised go to selected and approved organisations that run programmes for the normalisation of street and vulnerable children’s lives
